In pursuance of the Federal Laws On Environmental Protection and On Protection of Atmospheric Air, as well as the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Transneft Long-Term Development Programme manages emissions of air pollutants.

The Company keeps equipping its tanks with floating roofs, implementing and operating special plants to capture and regenerate hazardous substances from off-gases at operating facilities, taking measures to regulate boiler house regimes.
Our personnel calculates gross emissions using instrumental (based on monitoring data) and computational methods, involving emission calculation techniques included in the List of Methodologies for Calculating Emissions of Hazardous (Polluting) Substances into the Atmosphere by Stationary Sources, approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
The set of measures implemented since 2010, reduced specific emissions by 45% and gross emissions by 46% even in the context of continuous production buildup.
